It's a Motorcycle! It's a Plane! No, It's Just Sleeping Beauty

Last time I checked, Chris and I didn't own a motorcycle. But it seems recently, every time I begin to fall asleep, I am roused awake by snoring so loud it is the equivalent to a motorcycle revving right beside me. Or a jet plane taking off. Or a car with a broken muffler. Or anything else that makes a really loud annoying noise.

Last night I couldn't help myself and I recorded it. I began laughing, which lucky for me, woke him up. Normally, his snoring doesn't bother me much. I'm a mom, therefore, I am Super Woman, and I normally let the noisy thunderous soft soothing sound lull me to sleep. This morning I had the pleasure of playing his sweet lullaby for him and he seemed pretty proud that he not only snores on an inhale, but his exhales too.

Men are always so proud of the strangest things. And I'm quickly learning this starts at a young age and they don't grow out of it. Joshua's new favourite thing to say is 'I farted' with a huge grin on his face (I have Chris to thank for this one). Yes, I am so proud of my boys!

Alarm, Snooze, Alarm, Snooze

Mornings always seem a bit rushed to me. They start off by Chris' alarm going off and him hitting the snooze button. This normally happens two or three times depending on the day. At the beginning of the year he had a wonderful idea to create a New Year's resolution to get up when his alarm went off (I quietly laughed to myself). I can't say I mind though because I get to sneak in some cuddles before the day starts and we can share our whacky dreams. Like this morning when Chris tells me I packed all of his clothes in formula containers so I could stack them for moving (my thought was he has way too many clothes to ever make that possible).

When we finally get ourselves out of bed it's time to get the boys ready. This is when I feel rushed. Joshua is really good and patiently waits for me to get his little brother ready. Grayson on the other hand can barely sit through his diaper change. The only thing he has on his mind is feed. me. now! I just cannot move fast enough for him. After breakfast is made and the boys have eaten, it's normally smooth sailing from there.

Until Grayson needs a bum change and an unsuspecting mama goes to take his legs out of his sleeper and puts her fingers into something warm and mushy. Yes, that's right, poop explosion! Sometimes baby wipes just don't seem like they'll do the job and instead a hose seems more logical.

Oh, The Shananigans

Sometimes I just have to sit back and laugh. How can I not when I walk into Joshua's room and find him playing with poop. The first thing that runs through my mind is why on Earth would he want to roll around in poop like he's a pig? But then again, it doesn't surprise me. Toddlers do some pretty strange things that seem completely and utterly normal to them. The look he gave me was "look mom! I'm having so much fun...aren't you proud?"

My next thought was Game Plan! And a "Chris! I need your help pronto!" Joshua had just as much fun showering off as he did making the mess. And Chris was along for the ride while trying not to gag. Suka, our four legged princess, was ever so kind to bring Chris a piece of poop.

And as I finish typing this post, I'm sitting on our bed listening to Joshua in his room making pretend snoring sounds, which ironically, sound more like a snorting pig.

I love this crazy life of mine.

Howdy!

I've never written a blog about my family before but I'm up for the challenge. Our household is  a little chaotic at times with a toddler and a baby but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I think it would only be appropriate to start this blog with an introduction. My name is Kelsey and I am a proud mama to two very handsome little men, Joshua and Grayson. I am 25 and have been a mommy for 2.5 years. I enjoy quiet bathroom time without a toddler banging on the door, gardening without dirt flying everywhere, knitting without my yarn turning into a knot, and long bubble baths. Who am I kidding, life would be boring without all of the chaos (but really, a glass of wine at the end of the day is a great way to bring back all of my sanity).

At the moment, you could call me a stay at home mom. I'm on maternity leave for the next 3.5 months. Being able to take a year off is something I am so grateful for. Watching the world through a child's eyes is such a delight. The pure joy they can find in the simplest things is something I think everyone takes for granted at times.

Writing this post has made me realize I can't do just a simple introduction. I love to talk so I'll have to break it down or else this post would have the potential to turn into a long and boring read.
